Membership
Membership in LSNORR offers many advantages and opportunities: to become more professional in legal work; to have the advice and counsel of members who are experienced in specialized areas of legal work and procedure; and to further cooperation with attorneys, courts and bar associations.
Membership is open to all individuals employed in law offices, courts, trust departments of banks and trust companies and any offices directly connected with the legal profession, including public offices of the United States Government, states, cities and parishes.
Benefits include educational programs to increase your knowledge of legal procedures; the opportunity to gain prestige and recognition in a profession dedicated to justice; the opportunity to better serve employers, the courts and the public; and gaining new friends with similar interests and careers.
Membership meetings are held on the last Tuesday of the month at restaurants in New Orleans and Metaire areas. The meetings feature speakers and programs which provide continuning legal education and afford networking opportunities. The benfits to be gained from membership in LSNORR far exceed the cost.
The Legal Secretaries of New Orleans and the River Region (LSNORR) offers two classes of membership. Active membership are those who fulfill membership requirements, who have the privilege of voting and holding elective office and who have paid current local dues. Corporate membership is available to companies, businesses, corporations, or other entities, excluding law firms, that have an interest in the legal field. Corporate members may neither vote nor hold office.
